Rapids Home Opener

Ian LOVES the Rapids, and on March 21st we went to see them play.  He was so excited, and seeing him so excited makes everyone else excited too.  We arrived pretty earlier so everyone got their face or arm painted. Ian acted like he was getting a shot, but after it was done, he LOVED it.

Even Nana had her face painted!
The Pablostache was too funny!
The Rapids tied 0-0, but it was a really exciting game.  There were lots of yellow cards and one red.  Ian crashed before we even made it to the car, and Jacob fell asleep not long after.  Having so much fun is exhausting, but seeing the kids enjoy themselves so much, makes it all worth it.

St. Pats 5K

Jacob and I ran in the St. Patrick's Day 5k.  I was so nervous Jacob would leave my in the dust, but he didn't.  I wasn't too far behind him.  I ran my best time yet.  I hope we can run more races in the future.  It was neat sharing the experience with him.  I'm really proud of both of us.

You're One in a Minion!

We "made" minion cookies for Ian and William to hand out on Valentine's day.  They turned out so cute, and the boys did most of the work.

Soccer with Kenadie

Kenadie Fetters...Ian's first girlfriend.

Much to our surprise, she also decided to participate in the same winter session of Soccer Shots as Ian.  They are too dang cute with each other.  Unfortunately, they distracted each other so Coach Laura had to deal with that on top of trying to teach 3 & 4 year olds soccer.  Here a few sweet pics of them together.

Brothers

Ian loves his brothers and his brothers love Ian, and that makes me one happy mama. I'm so thankful for all three of them, and can't imagine my life without them. Love you Jacob, William and Ian.

Soccer Party

What an awesome time we had at William's soccer party. William was given a Captain America hat because he was the honorary team captain. I think that's just great. He was happy, and I could tell he liked getting the attention. Coach gave everyone funny glasses and silly mustaches. We had pizza and soccer cupcakes. It's shame the boys didn't win any games but they worked hard and defintely deserved to be celebrated for their efforts.

Practice Cake

I want to make a soccer ball cake for Ian's 3rd birthday. I bought all the stuff and decided to practice yesterday. It went pretty well but when I took the cake out of the mold, the tracing lines were no where to be found. So...I ended with a mound of very moist chocolate cake covered in frosting that in no way resembles a soccer ball. Guess I better try again and figured out what I did wrong. It could be the pan but it could be the recipe I used for the cake. I added sour cream and instant pudding to the cake mix and tasted like chocolate mousse. I loved it and so did Ian. I think some of it made it into his mouth. :)

October & My Birthday

October was a busy and FUN month. William decided it was time to do some fun Halloween crafts with Ian. What a helpful big brother. We went to Boo at the Zoo so the boys could trick-or-treat together. Ian's Halloween party was fun, and he enjoyed having candy with friends. I took Ian trick-or-treating not to far from our neighborhood. He had a blast riding in the wagon and I got some much needed exercise pulling him. Lastly, my birthday dinner at Ted's Montana grill was interesting. We survived even though Jacob spilled his entire glass of lemonade. The food was good though so hopefully we can go back soon!

We Luv Trader Joe's!

We love Trader Joe's, and now we don't have to drive to Denver to go there and potentially ruin nap time. Woo!

We decided not to go the first day they opened, and from what I hear that was good decision. The line was wrapped around the building. I don't need almond milk that bad. I can wait, and we did. It was busy but not too bad. We got there around 8:45 a.m.

So cool to be able to run in to Trader Joe's and grab a bag of orange chicken for dinner or fresh fruit for lunches. I have a feeling I'll be stopping by quite a bit on my way home from work. I just love it, and so does Ian Michael!

Brunswick for Dinner? Sure!

Too tired to cook dinner Friday so we went to Brunswick Zone. The boys played video games and had some fun. After spending a bunch of money for a few pieces of candy (wink), we ate dinner.

There were TVs in the wall for each booth, and the USA vs Ecuador game was on. USA almost scored but it hit the post, and Ian screamed, "UGH! Son of a biscuit!" We all laughed. Yes, probably not the most appropriate thing for a 2 year old to say but it was pretty funny.

After a very entertaining dinner, we headed home. What a very foggy drive. Ian opted to ride with John and his brothers so I was able to enjoy a quiet drive to myself. :)

Whoa! Big Guy Can Run!!

Jacob's away game this weekend was on the north side of Denver. The boys have been working all week on finishing, and had a goal of 8 shots on goal for the first half. They scored once. The second half they also needed 8 shots. They scored 4 goals.  Final score: 5-3!

In the first half, Jacob was getting beat by an opponent running back to score a goal and out of no where, Jacob turned on the "gas."  Several of our parents were impressed, and one even said, "Whoa! The big guy can run!" And he can!  He just needs to do it more often 'cause when he wants to be, he is fast.

Way to go boys. Moving up in the ranks from 4th place to 3rd.

Swimming Buddies

William's soccer team decided to have a team bonding swimming party at his Coach's apartment. The Friday before it was freezing cold, but the day of the party is was beautiful. It was a pretty day for swimming. The boys had a lot of fun playing with each other and with Coach in the pool.

I hope we are able to get together again soon. I really enjoyed watching the boys have fun. When they're happy, I'm happy!

Sky Zone Party

What a fun party for all ages and for both girls and boys! Jacob and William had a joint birthday party this year at Sky Zone, which is basically a huge building filled with trampolines. They all had a blast.

Jacob and Eli were battling it out playing dodge ball. William spent most of his time dunking the basketball and doing flips into the foam pit. And Ian, he just jumped. After the jumping they had pizza and soda and cake!!

Happy Birthday William and Jacob. Hope you had a blast!

Birthday S'mores!

For William's birthday, he wanted to have dinner at HuHot so that's what we did. He opened his gifts and we left shortly there after.

It's a pretty fun place. You pick the ingredients for your stir fry including the sauces and then they make them for you on a big Mongolian style grill. William always gets noodles and tofu.  I did make him have a side salad. Gotta have something green with an all white dinner! For desert, birthday s'mores!! So fun and very yummy. Something different besides a traditional cake.

Happy birthday William James Norrie! Can't believe you're 9 years old!!
